Tucson Water's new treatment facility with state-of-the-art technology effectively removes 1,4-dioxane from water.
The new facility operates in conjunction with the adjacent Tucson Airport Remediation Project (TARP) facility to produce up to 8 million gallons of purified water a day. Take an educational tour that includes site history, how the AOP and TARP facilities work, and more. Watch a YouTube video in English or Spanish produced by the City's Channel 12. Read the media release and the AOP Facility Fact Sheet for the dedication. Construction of the Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) Water Treatment Facility began in July 2012 and was completed in January 2014.
